Unum is a UK workplace insurer that provides group income protection, group life insurance and group critical illness cover for employers. Unum group income protection pays a percentage of an employee's salary if long-term illness or injury stops them working, with specialist rehabilitation support to help people stay in or return to work.
Unum paid £516 million in group protection claims in 2024 and insures 2.8 million people, according to the company. Every Unum policy includes Help@hand at no extra cost, giving employees remote GP appointments, mental health support and an employee assistance programme, plus a cancer navigation service for people facing a diagnosis.
