Irish Life is an Irish insurer that offers company pensions, group life assurance and group critical illness cover for employers in Ireland. Its workplace pension, the EMPOWER Master Trust, is a defined contribution scheme with a fully independent trustee, risk manager and auditor.
Irish Life says the EMPOWER Master Trust is the largest master trust in Ireland, with over €10 billion in assets and more than 150,000 employees saving through it. For group life, Irish Life reports a 50% market share and pays out around €50 million in claims each year, with non-medical limits of up to €1.8 million.
